As Derek Jeter becomes the first Yankees to achieve 3,000 hits in a career we debate if he can be associated with some of the great Yankees such as: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Joe Dimaggio, Yogi Berra and Reggie Jackson. Jeter has carried the Yanks to 5 World Series Championships, has 12 All Star appearances, 5 gold gloves, is batting .312 for his career, and continues to beat the Red Sox. Yes, the Yankees havent been a super power like they were in the hay day but Jeter has been their captain. In my opinion Jeter will defiantly go down as A Yankee and in 50 years he will be put in the same sentence with Ruth, Mantle, Dimaggio, Gehring, and others.
